Mrs. Janet
Hi! I'm Mrs. Janet and I believe that teaching is a vocation that requires the teacher to have a great impact in the live of their students.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University and have over thirty-five years of teaching experience in grades K-8. I am deeply committed to fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for our young learners. I firmly believe that “Children are our greatest asset. If we fail to prepare them, we prepare them to fail.” My teaching philosophy incorporates a variety of hands-on learning experiences that encourage individual creativity, including imparting biblical truths that affirm they are “fearfully and wonderfully made by a loving God.” Outside the classroom, I relish reading, crocheting, cooking, and working with youth in my local church.

These include the 4th of July Parade, Meet ‘n Greet, Photo Booths, Fall Carnival, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Christmas Party, and Spring Fever Fun Run. We also encourage you to volunteer in our classroom or at any of our events. Your participation is always welcome!

Since conflict-resolution skills are crucial at this age, we help your child work through problems with other children. We are not only state-licensed and CPR/First Aid-certified, but we also adhere to rigorous policies and procedures regarding health and safety to ensure your child is in a safe and clean environment. To enrich our learning experience, we organize several field trips throughout the year, and we encourage you to join your child on these adventures. Previous outings have included destinations such as the Zoo, Coller’s Peach Farm, EdVenture, the Police Station, Fort Jackson, the Fire Station, a Grocery Store, Surge Trampoline Park, Cici’s Pizza, the library, and a Pumpkin Patch, among others. We also commemorate special occasions with festive parties for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and your child's birthday!
#8: Your child gets a shirt and portfolio!
Each year, your child will receive a different t-shirt for that school year to wear on Spirit Days. Some of our families have been with us so long they are t-shirt collectors! We also save some of your child’s artwork for a special portfolio you get at graduation.
#9: We help you preserve memories!
We offer you the opportunity to enrich your preschool experience by enjoying book orders, school pictures, class pictures, graduation pictures, cap ‘n gown pictures, and an end-of-the-year graduation video.
#10: We celebrate with graduation!
Bring your entire family to our yearly graduation where we celebrate your child's accomplishments in a big way! It'll be a night to remember! Your child will graduate every year, so be sure to bring your entire family for a fun family experience for free!

When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
When does preschool start? Can I enroll mid-year?
We have a 10-month school year (Aug.-May) and a 2-month summer camp (June-July). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1. Summer camp is for children who are ages 3-8 by June 1.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
What is your teaching philosophy?
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Are there additional fees during the year?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our field trips and activities. And your family can come for free too! Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!
What if my child has food restrictions?
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No.
How many students do you have per class?
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 10 students per class.
