Hi! I'm Mrs. Janet and I believe that teaching is a vocation that requires the teacher to have a great impact in the live of their students.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University and have over thirty-five years of teaching experience in grades K-8. I am deeply committed to fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for our young learners. I firmly believe that “Children are our greatest asset. If we fail to prepare them, we prepare them to fail.” My teaching philosophy incorporates a variety of hands-on learning experiences that encourage individual creativity, including imparting biblical truths that affirm they are “fearfully and wonderfully made by a loving God.” Outside the classroom, I relish reading, crocheting, cooking, and working with youth in my local church.
Now, I get to teach YOUR child! I can't wait!

It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
We have a 10-month school year (Aug.-May) and a 2-month summer camp (June-July). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1. Summer camp is for children who are ages 3-8 by June 1.
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our field trips and activities. And your family can come for free too! Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
No.
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 10 students per class.
Follow our simple 3-step process below to register your child into our preschool!
"As a parent, there’s no greater comfort than knowing your child is in a safe, loving, and enriching environment—and that’s precisely what IDFCCA provides. From the very beginning, Mrs. Hammett has demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for every child in her care.
Mrs. Hammett is a God-fearing woman with the patience of Job. She has been a blessing to my daughter and our family. She continues to nourish Aaliyah—not stunting her growth but encouraging it—and that means everything to me. I wanted to ensure my daughter was in a safe, loving environment where she could truly learn. At IDFCCA, she’s doing all of that and more—every single day.
Honestly, I don’t know what I would have done if God hadn’t sent Mrs. Hammett into our lives. As a first-time parent, I was scared and hesitant about leaving my daughter in a traditional daycare or preschool setting. But Aaliyah connected with her from the beginning, which gave me such peace of mind. I knew from the start that my child was in the right hands and that I didn’t have to worry.
My daughter has been attending IDFCCA for some time now, and the growth I’ve seen in her is truly remarkable. At just three years old, she’s already learning sign language and Spanish! The amount of exposure she’s received—both academically and emotionally—is beyond what I could have imagined.
She’s learning science, arithmetic, history, and even lessons about herself and her culture. I don’t believe she could get this same experience anywhere else—and honestly, I don’t want to find out. I dread the day she has to move on to a traditional school setting.
What truly sets IDFCCA apart is the love, patience, and understanding that Mrs. Hammett pours into every aspect of her care. She doesn’t just look after the children—she nurtures them. She sees each child’s potential and meets them where they are.
I will be forever grateful for the impact she has had on my daughter’s life. IDFCCA is truly a gem, and Mrs. Hammett is a gift from God. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Thank you for all you do! We love you, Mrs. Hammett!!!"
"My son has been attending Mrs. Hammet's classes for several years now, and our experience has been nothing short of amazing! You’re not just securing childcare here; you’re investing in your child’s future and education!"
We are so grateful for the wonderful experience our family shared with IDFCCA. From the moment our son began attending, we knew he was in a nurturing, educational, and faith-filled environment that truly supported his growth.
IDFCCA provided not only high-quality early childhood education but also a strong foundation in Christian values. The family-oriented atmosphere made us feel welcomed and supported every step of the way. Mrs. Hammett genuinely cared about our son’s development—spiritually, emotionally, and academically.
"During his time at IDFCCA, our son learned to read, write, and master his math facts—skills that have given him a confident head start as he continues his educational journey. But even more than that, he learned kindness, respect, and the joy of learning in a Christ-centered environment.
We cannot thank the IDFCCA team enough for the love, patience, and dedication they’ve shown. It has truly been a blessing to be a part of this special community."
With heartfelt thanks,
The Stokes Family
I am so grateful to have Mrs. Hammett in our lives. I heard about her from a family friend in Joe’s that my baby would have the opportunity to attend IDFCCA. My baby has been accepted, and I've seen significant improvement over the last three weeks. My baby is also treated as if she is one of the grandkids! I would recommend IDFCCA to any and everyone who has children to prepare to advance through the school system, they are MORE THAN JUST CHILDCARE, we consider them to be family!
